what happens if my child misses the cut off?

As long as we receive an NHS referral before a child turns 18, that child is eligible for an NHS assessment to see if they actually qualify for NHS orthodontic treatment. We are now finding that more patients are accessing this assessment privately via self-referral so that they can plan ahead.

the benefits of private treatment at cowbridge orthoontics

If you are concerned about your child missing out or just want to know what your options are, we offer private assessments at £75, and treatment for kids starts from just £1,200 with payment plans that allow you to spread the cost of treatment. This offers a number of advantages:

You aren’t waiting for a referral
No waiting to get to the top of the list.
A wider choice of treatment options

If your teen is currently on the NHS waiting list but you’d like to have an opinion or get started with treatment straight away, get in touch today.

NHS Patients can opt for an initial private consultation where we can determine if they will qualify for NHS treatment and also estimate when they are likely to be seen on the NHS. That way parents can make an informed decision on going private or remaining on the NHS waiting list.
